Last we saw Apocalypse, he was continuing his mission to bring mutant heaven to Earth. While O*N*E is doing the extreme opposite. A controlled Maverick and Deadpool on O*N*E’s side, and a controlled, now hulked out Wolverine on the other side…what could wrong?

The Story for Deadpool/Wolverine #9
With Wolverine as the ultimate weapon, Apocalypse is certain his dream can become a reality. However, he may have underestimated how evil humans can be. With each side full of hate and bigotry in this fight, their pawns have to break free, or everyone loses. A mind-controlled Deadpool and Wolverine never seem to be permanent, but the longer they are, the more damage seems to occur. It’s now SNIKT SMASH against the Merc with the Mouth.

The Art
Deadpool/Wolverine has brought us some fantastic art throughout the previous 8 issues. However, 9 took it up a hulk smidge. Each page was filled with intense scenes at amazing angles. It was non stop action from beginning to end, but the dialogue continued just as strong. When you have a hulk raged Wolvie up against an unsuspecting Deadpool, you need the perfect art, and this issue nailed it.
Overall Grade: 9.5/10
Benjamin Percy writes such perfect dialogue and stories between the Merc with the Mouth and everyone’s favorite short king. Deadpool/Wolverine has been a perfect example of what is so fun about these two. Despite the story being about a time-traveling mutant who’s controlling a Hulk-raged mutant with adamantium claws, it’s still very real. Yet, in addition to having an amazing story, you also get just the right amount of humor we’ve come to expect with these BFFs. Percy has mastered the perfect balance of action, storytelling, and humor. MAXIMUM EFFORT BUB!
