The Story and Writing
Nothing seems to be coming to Trinity easily, especially when it involves a loose corgi. In Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #3, Trinity is on the hunt for the corgi, but it happens to have a direct impact on Diana, who has a pooch of her own to take down.
Trinity has to try to save them both so neither one experiences the dark ending of death, but she just can’t get the hang of it. While this mission proves to be nearly impossible, Trinity gets some help from someone she loves and admires.
In Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #3, Tom King puts the spotlight on Trinity’s admiration for her father rather than Diana. There was a beautiful chemistry between the two that was written perfectly. It shows the relationship between a father and his teenage daughter. Trinity was close to giving up with nowhere to turn, and was shown that it doesn’t take a superhero to save the day.
The Art
The artwork of Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #3 perfectly illustrated the emotions Trinity was experiencing, all thanks to Belén Ortega and Alejandro Sánchez. You could see the frustration on Trinity’s face when she had to repeatedly go back in time just to be able to save both the corgi and her mother.
You could also see the relief and comfort on her face and in her body language when her father unknowingly put her mind at ease. I feel the portrayal of emotions were very important in this comic in particular as Trinity was doubting herself, while being talked down to by her other versions of herself.
Along with Ortega and Sánchez, Clayton Cowles handles the lettering of the comic, and truly shows his expertise. Cowles brought every word to life, and made the reader feel exactly what Trinity was feeling throughout the comic.
Final Thoughts
With each issue of Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman, the story gets even better and gives us a better idea of who Trinity is. You can see both her mom and her dad’s characteristics in her shine even more brightly with every issue.
