Power Rangers Prime #9- Welcome To The Team Rita

Welcome to the team Rita. Writer Melissa Flores, Artist Michael Yg, Colorist Fabi Marques, and Letterer Ed Dukeshire made a beautiful issue.

We start off about a week prior in The Space Dumpster. Rita is in there, and she is seeing multiple versions of herself in the glass shards. We then cut to where last issue left off, and she is attacking the VR Troopers. The team watches on while this happens, and Lauren tries to help out to no effect.

The VR Troopers think they beat Rita, but she then sends a giant car into the battle. We then see Bulk, and he sends in the Dino Zord. It enlarges and goes to town on the Troopers. Rita is then surprised to see that the zord didn’t destroy the Troopers. Lauren then sacrifices herself to the Troopers, in exchange for the rest of the team to be let go.

We then see the rest of the team and Rita having a conversation. The scene shifts to the destroyed car with Ryan, Lauren, and the other VR Troopers. Lauren is then taken into custody, and Jun’s mother lets her boss know. The final panel shows Jun’s dad showing up.

Overall Grade: 10/10

This series continues to be one of the best that BOOM! Studios is releasing. Issue after issue, I constantly get excited to see what’s next. Issue 10 looks to be quite an adventure.
