We kick off with Gwenpool’s funeral. Kate’s in tears, and Jeff is out of sorts without Gwenpool. Peter is then seen off in the distance, and he walks away. He then sees Gwen Stacy, and the 2 of them have a conversation. Following that, they end up fighting, and Kate joins in as well.

During this fight, Jeff ends up attacking Kate, and also has a growth spurt in the process. After this, the ghost of Gwenpool takes over Kate’s body, and another fight breaks out. We then see Gwenpool’s Ghost go into Peter’s mind. This is where we see the 60s art style for Peter.

Gwenpool then has an entire moment about her death and how she feels Gwen is at fault for it. We then proceed to see Gwenpool web Peter to the wall, and then Peter pulls out the Venom suit in the final panel of the issue.

Now, this issue was too exciting to review alone, so myself and NI’s Megan handled this together, and you can read our thoughts below:

The Art

Kat: Stefano’s art this issue was amazing. From the funeral scene from the beginning, to the grave fight, and then 60’s Peter and Gwenpool’s ghost, this issue had everything. Add in Matt’s coloring work and Ariana’s lettering, the issue comes together perfectly.

Megan: Stefano Nesi is the artist of Gwenpool #3, and delivers so many different tones in his art throughout the comic. With Gwenpool dead, but still hanging around, Gwen Stacy, Kate Bishop, and Peter Parker go through a confusing battle between whoever Gwenpool decides to possess. It made for a lot of great action panels, with the dark scene of the funeral in the pouring rain to accompany them. Among Nesi is Matt Milla, who always delivers when he works on the colors.

The Story

Kat: Cavan is continuing to surprise me with each issue. From the funeral scene to Gwen fighting the team, to even Peter getting the Venom suit, the book has everything. Cavan knows how to take these characters and make an incredible story.

Megan: Cavan Scott, the writer of Gwenpool, continues to give us something completely unhinged, wild, and perfect for Gwenpool. I love that you truly cannot guess what’s going to happen next, as it keeps you on your toes while reading.

Overall Grade: 9.5/10

Kat: 10/10

Megan: 9/10

Final Thoughts

Kat: I cannot wait for what’s coming next. Cavan and the team are crafting an incredible story, and it’s exciting to have Gwenpool back in Marvel Comics.

Megan: Cavan Scott has created something that’s a lot of fun, with the addition of iconic characters that we all know and love. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

So you’re fine with Gwenpool being written out of character whole her murderer gets sympathy cards thrown her way? Come off of it! Why are you being so softball with your criticisms of this crap book!
