The Story:

After reaching out to Moon Squire for help, Hellrune is no longer responding. The New Champions have to call in a favor from a young half vampire to get them the information they need to save her.

The Writing:

Steve Foxe continues to impress, while this issue is a bit of a bridge between storylines he manages make this an entertaining read. The new character, Nightdrifter was well written and intriguing and the magic market was a fun addition. Speaking of the magic market, the currency used there is truly disturbing to think about.

The Art:

The whole art team made this issue sing. Nightdrifter’s look was great and the magic market was a feast of weird and interesting sights to behold. While the story was a little on the light side as far as plot is considered, the art pushed this book forward to keep me entertained throughout.

Overall Grade: 8/10

While this issue was not the slam dunk that the previous issue was, I still had a great time reading it. This was a bridge between the last arc and the one to come and, while it could have been a boring filler issue, I am very much looking forward to where the story is going to go next month.
