The Story:

The Galactic Councel has converged on the Wakanda Prime with evidence that Wakandan assassins were responsible for the deaths of their leaders. However, new information has come to light and a new group of enemies have revealed themselves.

The Writing:

As always, Jonathan Hickman’s writing is absolutely superb! This issue boasts an incredible amount of characters, war ships, and moving parts and he somehow weaved everything together in an easy to understand and incredibly entertaining story. Each faction had a unique voice and the mystery was unfolded just enough to keep me excited for the next part of the story. The twist and reveal of the new threat really came out of nowhere and made me pump my fist with excitement to see that particular group in an antagonistic light again.

The Art:

The art team did incredible work with this issue. Much like the challenge with writing this issue, keeping this many moving parts distinct and clear was no easy feat. Thankfully, even with the fast paced and hectic nature, I was never confused by what was going on. The standout for me in this issue was the incredible fight between Black Panther, Hulk, and Brawn. Black Panther’s movement and the Hulks’ raw power were on full display. Speaking of raw power, that cut that Hulk “felt,” I felt it too… ouch! Just like in issue #1, the cover by Checchetto and Gracia is wonderfully designed and executed.

Overall Grade: 10/10

Mark this one down as another perfect issue for this story and creative team. The pace was fast and well timed, the action was thrilling, and the mystery unfolding continues to be intriguing. Everything about this story is perfect! This is what fans of the cosmic side of Marvel have been waiting for.
