Supergirl #3: Have you ever needed a friend? Well, Lelsa-Lar and Lena both have needed one. The only downside is that Supergirl has become something else, or rather someone else. Thanks to black kryptonite, she is now SATAN GIRL!

Creative Team:
Sophie Campbell: WRITER, ARTIST, and COVER ARTIST
Tamra Bonvillain: COLORS
Becca Carey: LETTERS
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
The Story:
I continue to love the lighthearted, adventurous take on Supergirl that Sophie is delivering with the plot here. There are lessons that I think could be taken to heart for younger generations within the heroic battle of good and evil. I like how in the end Kara could have crushed Lesla but, showing compassion and kindness is something that I think the world needs more of right now.
Becca’s letters with an added softness, leaning more into the overall tones of compassion and loneliness that this arc delves into.
The Art:
Sophie crafts perhaps my favorite cover of the three issues so far, with a hint of split personalities to come inside the pages. Tamra brings in eccentric and vivid colors to the panels, making each sequence pop out. There is incredible detail within the art on display as well. I enjoyed how, when Kara is turning back into Supergirl from Satan Girl, the sludgy texture of the skin is dripping off like cheese falling from a pizza.
Final Thoughts:
Supergirl #3 hammers home the theme of compassion and kindness, wrapping up this mini arc while setting up more to come with a cliffhanger at the end.
Overall Grade: 9/10
