Kylo Ren has been on a journey of discovery into the history of his grandfather, Anakin Skywalker. Thus far, it’s been a journey of discovery and self reflection, but that’s all about to change. What will Kylo do, when he has to confront someone who escaped Vader himself? Let’s jump into it!

Star Wars: Legacy of Vader #6 by Charles Soule (Writer), Luke Ross (Artist), Nolan Woodard (Color Artist), VC’s Joe Caramanga (Letterer) & Derrick Chew (Cover Art) is a solid issue that transitions to the next phase of the series.

The Story

Charles Soule does a great job with the story in this issue. Where the previous five issues have been focused on the past, this issue looks to the present. The battle at the beginning serves as a nice segue. It also highlights the tension between General Hux & Kylo, before moving on in the overall story being told.

READ LAST ISSUE’S REVIEW

It’s a VERY interesting set up, and a great test for Kylo, that is sure to be quite the spectacle to see. Finding out that there’s a Jedi who survived Order 66 that’s still around is a twist I didn’t see coming. It’s a totally new character, so I’m excited to learn more about them.

The Artwork

Ross & Woodard truly deliver in every way in this issue. I particularly enjoyed the forest scenes in the snow. It’s such a departure from everything we’ve seen to this point in the series. From the hot deserts of Tatooine, to the lakes of Naboo. It’s so dark & bleak that it really paints how alone Kylo is in this present time.

FINAL POINT: If you’ve ever wanted to see Kylo Ren in action, this is the issue you want to read! It reminds me a lot of some of the issues Darth Vader has had. Charles Soules great story together with the amazing artwork from Luke Ross & Nolan Woodard, make this an issue you need to read ASAP!

Overall Grade: 8.5/10
