They say you can’t go home again. That’s exactly what Wolverine did in the last issue. He went home knowing it was going to be a trap. Next thing he knew he caught the scent of the one guy who never forgets his birthday, and who he previously killed: Sabretooth.

The Story for WOLVERINE #10

As Logan searches the first place he called home, he’s overwhelmed with different scents. While, not entirely sure what to expect as he rounds each corner he comes face to face with his past in a way he didn’t expect at all. Over a century since he first left home, and the wounds of what led to him leaving are still fresh and painful. He finds what he’s been searching for (in more ways than one). However, before any questions can be answered or trauma healed, he’s got the fight of his life in front of him.

The Art

Every house has stories. Some good, some bad, and some traumatizing. Wolverine’s childhood home is definitely the latter two. This issue took place at the old abandoned Howlett estate, and the art captured the creepiness in such a beautiful way. It was more suspenseful than action packed, and the colors and art perfectly captured that. The inner dialogue of Logan talking about his past, mixed with the art showing us bits of it as well, made for a very personal, creepy, and beautiful issue.

Overall Grade: 9.5/10

I love where this story is taking us. Wolverine is a character that truly carries all his trauma with him, and this issue beautifully showcased that. It was a present day story that picks up from Benjamin Percy‘s run (2020-2024). Yet it was also an origin story. The two were perfectly balanced, and no past knowledge or readings were needed to truly enjoy where this story is going. I can’t wait for the next issue! Wolverine is the best at what he does, and the more we learn about his past, the more we learn why what he does best, isn’t very nice. SNIKT!
