In the last issue of Deadpool / Wolverine we got a flashback of Marvel’s favorite besties in the big apple, only to quickly switch back to the present. A present where Wolverine is now being mind controlled, and Wade isn’t. Meanwhile Maverick can’t wrap his head around what’s happening. We last left off…. SPOILERS for Last Issue…. with a not in control Wolverine being scooped up by a dragon, and referred to as a, “HORSEMAN.”

The Story for Deadpool / Wolverine #6
We kick right off with dragons, a zombie army, and a Wolverine Horseman. What could go wrong? We then go to the future to get some background on how Stryfe became who he is today. Going forward in time to better understand the past. As we snap back to the present, Maverick is not going down swinging, Wade seems to be the only “sane” one, and “Stryfe” continues to use his short king horseman as a pawn in finding something he needs to continue his mission.
The Art
Multiple locations and time zones. Dragons, zombies, different timelines, etc. So much happened in this issue, and it was all beautifully showcased. Not only were the action scenes so perfectly detailed, but the colors were as well. I love going from a beaitful night sky in South Dakota, to a perfect shot of a well known face brought back to “life.”
Overall Grade: 8.75/10
Deadpool and Wolverine can’t seem to catch a break. Someone is always mind controlled. Fortunately it’s not always at the same time. So despite the chaos of not always being in control, we still either get some classic Wolvie or some obnoxiously classic Wade. Both of which I can’t get enough of, and Benjamin Percy writes this duo so perfectly! In addition to my favorite besties in the same comic, the overall story has been non stop mystery, action, and storytelling. The more the story unfolds, the deeper we go.
Deadpool / Wolverine is the perfect combination of characters we love with a very detailed tangled up story with twists and turns to keep us on our toes. I’m absolutely loving this run. There really is maximum effort here, bub. SNIKT!
