Deal with the Devil

As the council of Lutheria is trying to deal with the disappearance of Gracchon, they also must make some difficult decisions. One of these decisions is allowing Jackson Crater asylum, citizenship, and a spot in the Freedom Guard. Upon Jackson joining the Guard, his new teammates were not thrilled with having a “terrorist” as their partner. Although when times call for getting dirty, they will be thankful Jackson is there.

At the same time, religion has become a hot topic in Lutheria. The Teomekhean Church is the chosen faith for the religious. The church has two distinct sects with very different practices. As both sides try to get the souls of Lutheria, the writing is on the wall for future problems.

The second issue of Free Planet really delves more into the world of Lutheria. Showing us more about how the world runs, and the politics behind it. Aubrey Sitterson does a fantastic job of giving the reader a detailed journey into this world. Well at the same time getting us familiar with our main characters and what makes them tick.

The art in this issue is phenomenal. The detail that goes into every panel makes the reader continually double check, so they don’t miss anything. The character designs are unique, and every character feels different from the other characters. Jed Dougherty really brings the world to life with his art, and Vittorio Astone makes every panel pop off the page with vibrant color choices.

Free Planet #2 is a great world building second issue. The more that we learn about Lutheria, the more you want to know about Lutheria. This robust world with endless possibilities is what sets this book apart from other books. This should be an instant pick up at the LCS, and you should strongly think about adding this series to your Pull List.

Overall Grade: 9/10
