In this first issue, the main character, Kristine Woods, is trying to find her father. It seems that Kristine has an interesting past. Kristine was released from prison, and in this issue it doesn’t say much as to what she did.
Kristine’s father wrote to her during her stay in prison. She ends up finding her dad’s old car, but it was odd that he was not with his car. She ends up investigating and talking to a variety of people, to get some answers from her father’s disappearance.
What I like about this story is that it starts out as a mystery. Most comics don’t present the suspense this early. I also like that Kristine has a rough around the edges look, but, on the inside she is a nervous woman who just wants a relationship with her dad again.
I am interested and wondering what exactly wound her up in prison. At the end of this issue, she finds her dad, but what he is involved in is quite unsettling.
As far as the art, Mad Cave has kept the standard of realistic artwork. I have never had a problem with any of the comics not looking realistic. Especially when it comes to the color grading or anything related to the art itself. I enjoy each time opening up a Mad Cave Studios comic, and seeing how beautiful the art is.
