The Story:
The New Champions get a little magical as they work towards becoming better equipped to fight threats that can’t be handled by throwing punches. Meanwhile, Hellrune continues her training with her long lost aunt.
The Writing:
Steve Foxe has put in a tremendous amount of effort to make these characters entertaining, likable, and endearing. This issue was just a blast to read. Each hero is written in a way that makes them easy to distinguish without having to see them on the page. The personalities are being fleshed out perfectly. As far as the story goes, this issue delivered everything that I would want from a writing standpoint. It advanced the plot forward while being so very enjoyable.

The Art:
The art team turned in, yet another, excellent issue. The heroes, the monsters, the action were all expertley put to page. The real standout in this issue was the interesting design of the frog monster and it’s true villainous pilot. They were equal parts wild and somehow cute at the same time. The colors popped throughout and the excitement showed through on the young faces of our New Champions as they discussed plans in the a team member’s basement. Each page was a pleasure to look at and the cover was wonderful as usual!
Overall Grade: 10/10
I’m officially hooked on this series. This issue was just good old-fashioned comic book FUN! This is such a great team of young heroes that is perfect for new and old readers. This series reminds you why you love comic books!
