Monster High Pride 2025 #1- Love’s In The Air

It’s Pride Month, and love is in the air at Monster High. This year’s Monster High Pride special has an all-star creative team, including:

Our first story takes us back to 2 summers prior at Math Camp. Toralei and her friend Teala are catching up, when Clawdeen arrives. Her and Toralei have a little bit of an argument, but that ends quickly. Then we find out that both of them we’re going to be roommates at Math Camp. 

We then see Clawdeen and Toralei having a slight argument in their cabin. The next day, everyone is out trying to get their equations correct. We then see a brother and sister team get their equations right, and are down the zipline fairly quick. Following that, Toralei and Clawdeen have another bickering session, and that brother and sister duo play with the times. 

We then see everyone at lunch, and they are trying to come up with a plan to beat our brother/sister duo. The scene shifts to showing us Toralei and Clawdeen trying to prepare for the Clawculus Championship. We see both teams going back and forth in the first 2 rounds. While having a study break, Teala talks to Toralei about her becoming close with Clawdeen. 

The comic then cuts to later in the evening, and Toralei and Clawden are back in their cabin, and they get into a conversation. The scene then shifts to the final round, and we see Toralei and Clawdeen outwit our brother/sister team. The final panel shows the 2 of them finally kissing. 

We then get into the other story. The opening scene cuts back to the previous Scarmester, and we see both Spelldon Cauldronello and Kieran Valentine talking in the hallway. After their conversation and kiss, they both take off into different doors. Kieran ends up calling his friend Wisp, and telling her that he thinks he made Spelldon fall in love with him. 

We then cut to the Scaregrounds, and the boys are alone there, and Wisp calls Kieran. She tells him that some sort of shadow is eating all of the powerful spellcasters. Said shadowfigure then tries to take Spelldon hostage. Kieran steps in with magic to save him, which works for a moment. 

The comic then shows the guys sending the shadowfigure on a wild goose chase after them. We then proceed to see Kieran tell the shadowfigure that he loves Spelldon, and it sends the figure flying. We then find out that Whisp was behind the attack. The final panel shows the boys kissing. 

Overall Grade: 10/10

This is such a fun comic, but it’s also 2 amazing stories. The creative teams for both knew exactly where to go with these stories. Every Monster High fan will find something to love in this year’s Pride Issue.
