A Terrible Proposition

The man who blackmailed Clarence, Frank, and the lady to reveals what he wants from them. If they kill his wife, he will let them go and pay them a thousand dollars, but if they don’t, he will turn them in. This leads to the group struggling to decide if they will go through with it or not. At the same time Bob & Cy are arguing about wither the fugitives lived or died. This argument leads its way to a bigger proclamation of love for each other.

John is still hot on their trails, but we discover that he is leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. As the fight between the fugitives over if they will kill the wife intensifies, the lady kicks the other two out of the car, so she can take care of business. Little do they know, John has made his way to the man’s home and that means trouble for the man.

Great Escapes and Hard Choices

Issue number three continues the story seamlessly. Christopher Cantwell does an immaculate job of building the characters up, while turning up the heat of the story. As some mysteries reveal themselves, others are just peaking through. The depth of the characters mixed with making the world in many shades of gray, really makes this story stand out.

The art in this issue is pretty awesome and gives the reader that 1960’s feel. Tyler Crook brings the world to life while immersing us in the world of the 1960’s. The earthy colors drive the point of the despair of the story.

Final Thoughts

Out of Alcatraz #3 does a fantastic job of continuing the story and building suspense for what’s to come. If you like story driven comics this is the book and series for you. This is a no brainer pick up at the LCS this week.
