The Story
In Daredevil: Unleash Hell #4, Elektra ended up in Hell trying to save Morgan from Muse’s grasp on her. Sensing something hellish is afoot, Ghost Rider made his way to Hell’s Kitchen to assist Elektra down under in any way he can. His assistance proved to be very useful when Elektra came close to joining the demonic version of herself, Helektra, in what Ghost Rider says was a trap.

Now, in Daredevil: Unleash Hell #5, Ghost Rider has to battle the demonic version of Matt Murdock’s Daredevil while Elektra tries to save Morgan from even more damage caused by Muse. Muse isn’t to be taken lightly, as he has no plans stopping. According to Muse, since they’re in Hell, this fight could last forever. Elektra knows that she won’t be able to end Muse once and for all by herself, so she needs help from the only other person she knows won’t hold back; herself.
The Writing
Writing Daredevil: Unleash Hell, Erica Schultz has been consistent in quality and sticking to the Red Band rating. The fifth and final installment was the perfect ending to what has been a dark, violent, and all around entertaining comic run. Elektra is a complex character with great depth in her story, and Schultz was able to utilize that into Daredevil: Unleash Hell effortlessly. I enjoyed this run so much, I’d love to see it continue with the Red Band rating as well.
The Art
The artists of Daredevil: Unleash Hell #5 made the comic feel as dark and bleak as it should have felt when mostly taking place in hell. Adding in the amount of action in the comic, the artists made this a full course meal. I really appreciated how the artists were able to capture the otherworldliness of Hell, making you feel the weight of the tone throughout the comic. Dee Cunniffe, who was the colorist of Daredevil: Unleash Hell, continued to impress throughout the comic, bringing so much depth to the art of Valentina Pinti, Sergio Dávila, and Jonas Trindade. The team of artists really showcased their talents with Daredevil: Unleash Hell.
