Strange things tend to happen after you die and end up in Hell, just ask Elektra. In her case, when she realized where she was, she was met with Hell’s version of herself, Helektra. Helektra says that she is Elektra’s most lethal form, the version of herself that doesn’t hold back. These claims are proven to be true once the two start fighting, and Elektra sees that her Hellish twin is impossible to take down. While she’s an excellent fighter like Elektra, she also can’t die, which adds complications to this duel.

When Helektra is asked why they were even fighting if neither can die, she says because Elektra lost her discipline. She says that Elektra has repressed her true nature for far too long and it’s time for the real Elektra to take control.

While this battle of the two Elektras was happening, Ghost Rider was hurrying on his way to Hell through Hell’s Kitchen. Elektra tries to stay strong, but her Hellish twin won’t give up when persuading her to fuse with her hellborn side.

Meanwhile, Ghost Rider has been hurrying as fast as he can to get to Elektra. At first, he tried to get to Muse before he killed Elektra but he was too late. Luckily, he knows exactly where to find them and he knows just how to get there.

The Writing

Erica Schultz does what she always does and gives you an absolute thrill ride of a comic to read. Seeing the vulnerability of Elektra when she started to give in to her hellborn twin added layers to the character that I don’t think are shown enough. What I really enjoyed was Ghost Rider being the voice of reason in the situation and being the teammate of Elektra. I look forward to seeing what Schultz does next with Elektra!

The Art

With a creative team made up of Valentina Pinti, José Luis Soares, Jonas Trindade, Dee Cunniffe, and Cory Petit, it’s easy to predict that the art would match the dark and thrilling tone of the story. Throughout Daredevil: Unleash Hell #4, you’ll see the perfect use of contrasting colors mixed an enormous amount of detail on each page. I can’t think of a better creative team to bring this story to life and elevate it that many levels.

The full page panels are when I think the artists really show their talent the best, especially a particular page that involves Ghost Rider and Elektra. All in all, I think the artists deserve a 10 out of 10 themselves.

Overall Grade – 9.3/10
