*SPOILERS AHEAD*

The Story:

Ah, a good old classic Civil War story which is one of my favorites. Geoff channels his inner Tarantino by putting his spin on things which Rob adds by giving The Northerner Samuel L. Jackson vibes in this issue. We are back to seeing how Simon is on his own side of the fence which is what i admire about this run so far. One issue brings the humanity and courage out and the next shows us that Simon is just a guy trying to make it in the world.

Rob’s lettering adds flavor to this issue and makes me curious if Simon has lost his accent by this time on his journey. Geoff additionally, continues to lay bread crumbs out for us as the larger picture is unfolding and America’s fate is at Simons feet.

The Art:

Bryan, Andrew, and Brad are filling this issue with some glorious one-shots of Union and Confederates locked into a heated battle. Readers will find themselves lingering on these particular shots as the amount of detail the team puts into them is incredible. Another excellent splash page is Simon seeing futures and pasts mirrored in bright blue light which moves the story along and also hits our interests as to what lies on the road ahead.

No other piece of artwork stands out in this issue, however, quite like our friend The Northerner standing there in the woods wielding 9mm pistols which I need on my wall ASAP.

Overall Grade: 10/10

Redcoat #11 continues to display why this creative team is a well-oiled machine taking the readers through their version of history. The artwork in this issue is stunning and Geoff is building up towards something special with this arc. Redcoat continues to get better and better what else can I say?
