Enter the world of vampires, which I was excited to read. In the world of Vatican City, they are taking over. Immediately, as the reader, you can read how much terror they are bringing to the city. It is quite gory and quite interesting to see that they are attacking anyone no matter the age.
Seeing the people that are begging and pleading with the vampires about their loved ones. Most of them like to see the terror in the public’s eyes as they are doing this. Vampires in general media usually need blood to survive. To my surprise, it looks like it is still light outside. Notably, vampires also need to not be exposed to sunlight.
I like how this comic sets the scene with the first instance of people seeing vampires. Set in the backdrop of Princeton, New Jersey, there is a family that is attacked by a vampire. This particular vampire had a deranged look on his face. It looks like some of the public and some police try to fight off these vampires.
What I liked about this debut of this Vatican City series is the vampire aspect of it all. At the end, it leaves with a cliffhanger, and I want to know what happens next. When it comes to the “classic” vampire story, I like to know the motive. To really understand why they are doing this in the first place.
When it comes to the art, Narwhal does a wonderful job displaying the vampires. I like how it is one theme, and it really shows how harmful these vampires are. I like that it is different from any of the other comic art that I see in different comics. The art really shows the graphic nature as to how these vampires move, and essentially want to harm people. I cannot wait to read the second issue of this explosive comic.
Overall Grade: 9/10.
