The Story for Issue 5 of HELLVERINE
Dragged to hell, Akihiro comes face to face with Mephisto, and the demon who raised him from the grave, Bragra-Ghul. As Mephisto attempts to use Akihiro as his puppet, the son of Wolverine has a choice to make. Cursed with his father’s bad luck, but blessed with his gifts, Akihiro makes the decision that needs to be made. One Mephisto didn’t see coming. However, the fun seems to just be getting started.
The Art
I have loved this art since issue one, and continue to do so. The first page was gorgeous and moving with perfect colors. As this issue took us to hell there were moments I had to look away. It was gruesome, yet beautiful. Just the way any comic book starring ‘Daken’ should be.
Overall Grade: 9.5/10
I’m absolutely loving watching Akihiro take this journey. A child born into death, and always feeling abandoned. Only to be murdered, and then resurrected by a demon. Akihiro’s life was hell, and now his death has been literal hell. Yet, he still maintains a sense of heart and good. He is truly his father’s son. However, with the hell unleashing all over the world, there’s only so much anyone, even the Hellverine, can do.
All in all I have to give HELLVERINE #5 9.5 mohawks out of 10. SNIKT!
