The World of Minor Threats has spawned a great and many different stories. All unique, stand alone, amazing, but connected. Each also hilarious in their own way while taking us on all sorts of different adventures. Welcome to Twilight #1 is no different.

The Story for Issue 1
We start at the VERY beginning for our new Minor Threats character: Benjamin Moishi “Bronk” Bronkowitz. Born with wings, but unable to fly. Bronk is living a life in the past, and isn’t exactly flying high these days. In the midst of what feels like a downward spiral from being an 80s pop cultural icon, Bronk meets a women obsessed with getting wet (get your mind out of the gutter!). From the second they meet, Bronk can’t get her out of his mind. Which leads to a series of out of character, and out of control decisions.
The Art
While each Minor Threats story is connected, they’re also incredibly different. They each have their own independent story, and the art throughout has done a creative and beautiful job of helping to distinguish these stories, but still hint at the stories already told.
In Welcome to Twilight we get a little bit of everything. There are hilarious scenes, gruesome action scenes, and some classic superhero looking moments. All the while, we get some beautiful details and color. Whether Bronk is regretting his life choices, or looking at the most beautiful women in the world, his feelings are perfectly written all over his face.
Overall Grade: 10/10
The world of Minor Threats never ceases to amaze me. This past summer they made me fall in love with a giant fly man, and now I’m rooting for a Miami Vice has been with giant non functioning wings whose up against someone who is literally two faced (and not in the way you would expect).
If you still haven’t encountered the world that is Minor Threats it’s time to dive head first into the fun and chaos with Welcome to Twilight #1. It may take place in a world with super heroes but it has a completely different feel. The super heroics are all secondary. These stories are about people. Weird, not completely human, and definitely should be in therapy (really who shouldn’t?) people, but still very human. Welcome to Twilight #1 immediately made me laugh while simultaneously sucking me into the story, and then wrapped up, with an ‘Oh!’ moment. I absolutely have to give this issue 10/10 faces.
More from Minor Threats
While you can enjoy Welcome to Twilight on its own, if you want to dive further down the rabbit hole of insanity and awesomness here are the runs that precede this one. Each is 4 issues long. Based on some upcoming covers of Welcome to Twilight it looks like some of my personal favorites will be showing up here soon.
