The Quest Continues

Celestidius and Baelrok have finally captured Erebusa, who doesn’t want to allow them to see her “unborn” son. Celestidius knowing he has this under hand sends Baelrok to go search for Uvydus. After some discussing the son of Satan emerges from Erebusa’s womb ready to fight. After a short skirmish, he agrees to tell Celestidius where his father Satan is.

Meanwhile, Bryce has woken up in his bathroom covered in blood and vomit. He asks Uvydus what has happened, and Uvydus tells him that they have bonded and that’s the only reason he’s alive. After some fun banter regarding Byrce’s unfaithful wife, a former love interest, and whether they had murdered someone the night before, Baelrok drops in on them. The fight is hot and heavy, while the whole time Uvydus’ lies are unfolding. Can Bryce trust Uvydus enough to partner up and survive.

Celestidius has located Satan, who is in sadder shape than they could’ve ever imagined. Satan happy to just troll people online on Earth, claims it has made him more powerful. Celestidius could care less as he’s only there for the portkey. But Satan is not going to give it up without a fight. Is Satan truly stronger than ever? For Celestidius’ sake, hopefully not.

Lies, Lies, Lies

The Missionary #2 is an insanely fun read. The adult humor mixed throughout the book is top tier. Ryan Stegman does a wonderful job of building this world and moving the main stories forward in this issue. At times the book gets a little jumpy, moving from plot to plot, but it’s never overly confusing.

The art in this book is incredible. Jason Howard brings this world tom life with wonderful set designs and next level character designs. Tamra Bonvillain uses the right colors to make the world pop off the panels and draw your eyes into every detail. This book’s art is up there with any of the top tier books on the market today.

Final Thoughts

The Missionary #2 is a fantastic voyage with a lot of heart and dark adult humor. For the mature readers out there grab a copy of the NSFW edition and enjoy the madness. As for the readers that want a more toned-down copy, they have you covered with a lighter edition as well. Completely recommend picking up a copy of this issue at the LCS this week

Overall Grade: 8.5/10
