Lust & Psychedelic Drugs
Morgaine finds herself in a threesome with Gaia and Dorian. She finds herself here not because she wants to be, but because she is in love with Gaia. She takes drugs to help her make it through what she must do. Si even pops into the door and looks like he wants to join in until Lisa pulls him away.
The girls accompany the band to their recording session, interview, and then finally their concert. All the while Morgaine is getting higher and higher. She observes the other girls and their states. But then she starts to see distorted, almost demonic visuals of the members of the band. She chalks it up to the drugs, but is this something else? Meanwhile, Lisa is led off like the lamb to the slaughter.
Sex, Drugs, and Satanic Sacrifice
The story in this issue is rather lackluster. It follows the drug infused delusions of what up to this point would be considered a second-string character. At the end of the issue, we know more about Morgaine, however she still feels like a secondary character. You need story telling issues to move the arc forward, and usually they have less substance. However, this issue doesn’t really feel like it moves the story forward. Instead, it feels more like a horny fever dream.
However, the art in this issue is phenomenal and more than makes up for the lack of an intriguing story. Tula Lotay really lets the creative juices flow throughout the pages and panels of this one. The watercolor vibe to the art is a real chef’s kiss. The trippy visuals that expose the dark truth are done in a fantastic way, that is subtle yet effective and cool. The color pallet that Cunniffe and Lotay use is stunning and really gives this issue an ominous feeling.

Final Thoughts
Groupies #4 is really lacking in substance of an actual story, which is disappointing. However, art makes this issue worthwhile because it is so awesome. If you are looking for a story, skip this issue. But if you are a fan of awesome artwork flip through the pages and enjoy some amazing art.
Overall Grade: 7/10
