Image Comics and Ghost Machine set the stage for spine-tingling storytelling at ComicsPro 2025, unveiling two new titles—First Ghost and Hyde Street: Sisterhood—both slated for release this year. These gripping additions to Ghost Machine’s shared universes promise horror, suspense, and unexpected twists from powerhouse creative teams.
First Ghost: A Haunted White House Thriller
One of the most anticipated announcements is First Ghost, a political horror story co-written by New York Times bestselling author Brad Meltzer and comic book titan Geoff Johns, with art by the celebrated Gene Ha (Top 10, Wonder Woman: Historia). This marks Meltzer’s return to comics after six years, reuniting him with Ha after their critically acclaimed Justice League of America #11.
First Ghost follows a newly elected U.S. president and his young son as they move into the White House, only to discover its supernatural secrets may be more terrifying than political power plays.
“Geoff and I have been planning this for years,” Meltzer said. “It’s a dream come true to collaborate with friends and creative titans like Geoff and Gene.”
Hyde Street: Sisterhood—A New Horror Saga Begins
Ghost Machine’s expanding Hyde Street horror universe gets even darker with Hyde Street: Sisterhood, a five-issue series by Maytal Zchut and Leila Leiz. Leiz, who has officially signed on as a Ghost Machine exclusive artist, reunites with Zchut after their work on It Happened on Hyde Street: Devour.
The series centers on two lifelong friends whose relationship takes a shocking turn after a sorority hazing ritual goes horribly wrong—leading to a supernatural revenge story that fits perfectly within Hyde Street’s eerie, psychological horror landscape.
“When Maytal pitched me the story for Sisterhood, I immediately said yes,” Leiz shared. “And when Ghost Machine offered me a chance to work with them exclusively, it was another easy answer.”
Ghost Machine’s Expanding Legacy
With nearly a year of sold-out, hit books—including Geiger, Redcoat, Rook: Exodus, Hyde Street, The Rocketfellers, and Hornsby & Halo—Ghost Machine continues to redefine creator-owned comics. First Ghost and Hyde Street: Sisterhood promise to deliver fresh, chilling narratives that will keep readers on edge in 2025.
