We start this issue with a flashback to 10 years ago. Jun and his mom are on a ship, flying towards Eltar. We then see Jun’s mom talking to Commander Yorlam, and she mentions the adventures she had on Earth. This entire flashback is super interesting to see, because it’s not what you would’ve expected to see.
From this flashback, we cut back to the museum and see Lauren in her new suit. Now, an interesting thing is that Rita made the suit. Because of that, Lauren can serve her. It was something I didn’t see coming at all. One thing that was really cool to see was Lauren’s wrist sword cutting the bars.
The team then splits, and Lauren staying with Rita to take on the Eltarian guards. We then see Rita make the T-Rex skeleton come to life with her magic. Right as that happens, Lauren charges the Eltarians, and a full-on fight breaks out.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team is down the hall trying to get to the lab. This is where we see a partial fight break out between Orion and the others. This is where Bulk runs into them, and says he doesn’t want to see who ends up on top.
Cutting back to the fight, Lauren is dominating against the Eltarians. But that is short-lived when the T-rex skeleton explodes and sends Lauren flying. Orion hears this, and heads back to where she is. The others follow suit, but Bulk stays back from the fight. We then see one of the Eltarians talking to Lauren. It’s at this time that the VR Troopers finally show up and blast Lauren.
This is where it gets very interesting. The Troopers start shooting their laser guns at Lauren, which she avoids very well. The rest of the team is hiding, and also watching this all happen as well. We then see Bulk find Rita, and while that is happening the Troopers are closing in on capturing Lauren. It’s then shown that Bulk picked up some other crystals to make some more suits.
We then see the Troopers leader, Ryan, try to take out Lauren. Val and the others show up to stop Ryan. While that is happening, Rita is getting the other crystals energized for the rest of the team. You then see the Eltarians clear out so the VR Troopers can do their business. We then see Orion and the others each take one of the other coins. The final page reveals the rest of the Prime Rangers.
OVERALL Grade: 10/10
Getting to see the whole team suited up finally was incredible. That is thanks in part to Melissa’s amazing writing. Add with Michael’s beautiful art, the great coloring work by Fabi, and Ed’s great lettering and it’s incredible. This series continues to push the boundaries of what a Power Rangers comic could be. But it also makes me excited for what stories the future issues will have.
