The Story:

This issue kicks off the next arc and Daniel and Riley have stood tall to the task at hand. The duo have crafted a clever way to turn fears into allies that I find can equally help those in real life as well. Jebediah is written with a soft-spoken voice aided by Shawn Lee’s lettering and in this, the team is taking us down some roads that promise to be exciting.

One aspect of this story is how nothing is ever truly black and white. As we learn about the nightmares and Tash they continue to show us that everyone has something to fight for and it is how you perceive objects or memories that give them power. There is so much deeper meaning in this story which continues to make it a favorite.

The Artwork:

Riley has upped the artwork in this issue. Pulling back the veil and revealing truly the dreamworld Penny has been living in the audience is met with an array of heart-felt memories and objects such as a car seat or sharks. Mike steps in an brings the artwork to life filling them with color. The nightmares using a crab for example is one of many vehicles that drive this story to getting a laugh from me. Despite Jebediah being a spider there is still a softness drawn about him, especially in his eyes.

The battle scenes continue to be epic only this time it seems Sam and Duncan are revitalized and having fun as they are slashing their way brutally to a victory.

Final Thoughts:

The Moon is Following Us #6 kicks off a new arc in grand fashion. The battles are more brutal than ever and the new characters we are met with bring new life into this story. The whole team has only somehow upped it a notch and found a new gear making this run an absolute must-pull monthly.

Overall Grade: 10/10
