Escape at a Cost

Officer Warren falls and sees the cosmos and the fight between good and evil as she perishes into the Ghostbox. This allows Chloe to make her escape, but at the price of becoming an even bigger fugitive of the law. As Officer Warren arrives inside the box she is barely noticed as everyone is trying to figure out how to save the Ghostbox and keep it away from the Estival.

The group goes to see the Angel named the Lion of God for guidance. This leads to Officer Warren questioning the Angel and discovering more of the back story of the battle and the box. At the same time Chloe is hiding out at Mark’s house well she tries to figure out her next move. By this point the solution that is reached in the box is to send someone to possess Chloe to ensure the box stays safe. It is decided that Jan will go possess her sister, but they don’t know Jan is possessed by Lady Sabine, who has a completely different agenda.

Protect the Ghostbox

This issue really ties the story together. As we near the end of the arc, the plot thickens, and the stakes become higher. Mike Carey does an awesome job of misdirecting the reader, while building up numerous angles at once. As this arc enters its endgame, us readers are still in a mist of endless possibilities.

The art in this issue follows the tone of the rest of the series and is simply beautiful. From the character designs to the background the art immerses you completely. The colors match the mood of every panel, with the lettering giving each character a different voice.
