Welcome to Indiana Jones, but if it wasn’t an old white guy doing the adventure. Writer Vita Ayala, Artist Skylar Patridge, Colorist Jason Wordie, and Letterer Becca Carey have made such an incredible comic.

Welcome To Puerto Rico

We start this comic off in Puerto Rico. Our main character Ines is fighting with her grandma about college. We then see her leave to catch her plane. The next thing is her list of what to remember for her museum internship cover letter.

The page changes to Ines at her museum internship. She is talking about the protests that have been happening at different museums. She is then talking to one of her co-workers, Mr. St-Pierre. We then see a very interesting discussion between a few characters and Ines happening.

What happens next is almost out of a novel. We see Ines take back one of the artifacts on display, El Corazon. This heist scene gets super interesting because everyone else also has the same mask as Ines. We then see Ines arrive back home with the artifact in hand.

History Comes To Life

The page then shifts to Ines talking about the history of El Corazon. This page has some fantastic art for the flashbacks. Ines and Ana are talking when Ines’ grandmother arrives. We see Ines and Ana in the car, talking about why Ines is back on the island.

Ines is back at the museum, talking about how museums steal artifacts from her people to just display them, and then trash them. We then see the car get rear-ended, and then gunshots happen.

We then see a collection of moments happening, and then Ines puts El Corazon into the tree. More flashbacks happen, and then Ines breaks the artifact in 2. We then see Ines in her house, talking to the son of Mr. Gonzales. We then see Ines having an interview for a art technician job. The final page shows what Ines next artifact target is.

Overall Grade: 10/10

What Image is doing with these Horizon Experiment books is showing stories from very underrepresented communities. And what Finders//Keepers does really well is  show a better version of what Indiana Jones does. Not only that, this book is very fun to read from start to finish.
