It’s My Natural Weight
The issue opens with a flashback of Melvin being bullied and getting fed up with it. He decides to fight back, but that doesn’t work out quite how he planned it. Instead of getting revenge, he gets humiliated and goes virial on top of it. Fast forward to the present and Toxie is doing battle with the cleanup crew from Biohazard Solutions. He then discovers their secret…they’re aliens.
Melvin tells his mom and girlfriend of the alien conspiracy, and they don’t exactly believe him. So, he must convince the people of Tromaville and the world. His plan is to go virial again and expose the conspiracy. However, behind the scenes the aliens are making their game plan to take out the Toxic Avenger.
Tromaville Needs a Hero
The Toxic Avenger #3 builds on the story Matt Bors has been telling while adding a new threat for our toxic hero. The addition of the alien conspiracy has upped the ante and moved the story forward. The flashback in this issue highlights the past and what has shaped Melvin as a person, and now as a hero. Moving the story forward, well also building up the characters that we are falling in love with is a big win for issue 2.
The art design in this issue is fantastic. Fred Harper’s character designs are top tier and really give you a feel for the world. The color pallet matches the art and makes you feel what’s going on in every panel. The art department is working in complete unison and it’s paying off in a big way.

Final Thoughts
The Toxic Avenger #3 is a great continuation of the story that is unfolding with every issue. Bringing a new threat well still world building is what really makes this issue pop. This is a series that is moving up my list every month, and it should be added to your Pull List now.
Final Grade: 9/10
