Venom War #5:
Venom War is coming to a conclusion and with the close of a limited series, you know there’s major drama and action in store. Eddie and Dylan have waged war over the future of the Venom Symbiote and who will be bonded to the iconic alien.

A future version of Eddie, and Meridius traveled back in time to take over the world and turn everyone into Zombiotes. As we often see with these dystopian futures, modern-day Eddie has other plans and has attempted to stop Meridius. Together with a future Dylan, the fate of mankind hangs in the balance.

The Art:
Coello has done a fantastic job at building the drama through his art. The golden magic depicted on the cover, having forged with Dylan in attempt to stop this future version of Eddie.

The battle between Dylan and his future father is one that is packed with action, emotion with the fate of the universe at stake.
The facial expressions are all we need to see as the war and the fight turns on a dime with a surprising twist.
The Writing:
It’s a complicated storyline with future versions of Dylan and Eddie, but the writing is clear, to the point. The art, it’s as emotional as a comic can get.
We’ve had over three decades of Venom and Eddie and have loved every second of this character and now, the future of Venom is in doubt as it and Eddie battle for their lives.
The bond between Dylan and the symbiote is also a truly heartbreaking moment in this series. You’ll soon see what I mean, but this close to the series has cinematic excellence written all over it.
Overall: 9.5/10
A truly near flawless close to the limited series. Now we head into All-New Venom #1 and what could this mean as there was a MAJOR cliffhanger at the end of this issue. Could the unthinkable really happen? I won’t spoil it but hot damn, what a final panel.
