Nuns on the Run
The issue opens hot with a Hellspawn decimating a couple in the dessert until a biker gang of badass nuns show up, they are known as The Bad Habit. Fast forward and the Bad Habit are in pursuit of Vampiro and the posse. Estrella Nocturna uses her elite driving skills to not only lose the nuns, but also get Vampiro into shelter since the sun is out.
After taking shelter in a garage, Everitt goes into town to meet up with a podcast friend who is also a hacker. Everitt gets him to help by appealing to his conspiracy theorist mind. Unfortunately for Everitt the police are on to him because of what went down in the morgue. Also on the trail of our posse is the YouTube monster hunter known as the Monster Cop. However, this is the least of our crews problems.
The Bottomless Pit of Hell Demands Souls
Coming off an absolute banger of a first issue, Vampiro: Rockabilly Apocalypse #2 continues to raise the bar. Michael Kingston is weaving a world that around every corner is another threat to take our heroes down. At the same time he’s making us fall in love with and care deeply for Vampiro, Everitt, and Estrella. This story is ramping up to amazing levels and it’s only issue two!
The art in this book from Dr. Napalm is fantastic. It feels like you are in an animated Quentin Tarantino movie. Each panel has such a cool vibe to it and really immerses you in the world of Vampiro. Huge shout out also to Jacob Bascle whose lettering is awesome at conveying emotion, well also blending in seamlessly with the art.
