Voyage on the Sea

Babs is aboard the elvish ship, The Surging Waves, which she’s caught a ride on to continue her search for Izzy. Well on the ship she gets invited to a party hosted by the captain Rondovar. Once at this party she realizes this is no normal party, but in fact an elvish orgy. As she excuses herself she meets an elvish queen, but before she gets the answers she needs the queen is killed by a necromancer. Unfortunately for the necromancer he meets a grizzly demise on the high seas.

Meanwhile, our gang of incels has helped Lord Tiberius round up a lot of the mythical creatures of the land. However, instead of being rewarded handsomely they are put to work to find more. At the same time, Babs has made it to the main land to only be captured because of elvish magic chips. Once captured Babs finds Izzy, but will they be able to escape?

Work or Die

Babs #4 keeps the hits coming. Garth Ennis has created an amazing fantasy adventure world, with an awesome amount of adult humor mixed throughout. Issue four has a little bit of everything, great story build, hilarious moments, adventure, and even a grizzly murder on the high seas. The fact there is an underlying message under the surface of this story speaks volumes for Garth’s writing and this book.

The art in this series continues to be some of my favorite in all of comics. Jacen Burrows has brought this world to life with his art. Well Andy Troy’s color pallet immerses you in this medieval style tale. The whole art team is on point, right down to the panel design and layout.

Final Thoughts

Babs continues to be one of my favorite books each month. The story is entertaining and action packed each every issue. The foul mouthed maiden heroine is a fresh notion and a welcomed one at that. If you are not reading this series, you need to rectify that immediately. Go to your LCS, pick up this issue, and then add Babs to your Pull List.
