Back in Time

Jenny and Joe are on the run from a giant dinosaur that is hoping to make them a snack. They have been on the run for their life ever since Abigail sent them back in time to stop them from meddling in her evil plans. Jenny, however, managed to grab one of the time traveling artifacts that are called Phylacteries. Unfortunately for them she has no idea how to use it.

As Jenny & Joe hide in a cave deciding on their next move, Jenny is reminded that her sister Izzie will be sacrificed if they can’t make it back to save her. Their safety is cut short as a smaller carnivorous dinosaur has emerged from the cave. As they are running Jenny wishes she was home and the artifact starts doing its thing and the next thing they know they are in a different time frame, but still not home. As they jump through time the sands in the Phylacter are running out, and so are the hopes for their return.

Like Sands in an Hourglass

Returning to the world of Arkham Horror with issue three was a fun trip. Cullen Bunn wastes no time immersing you in this weird and terrifying world. Picking up the pace of the story well, adding a great deal of suspense and urgency has really upped the game. The time travel element of the story was a big gamble, but it is paying off big time in issue three.

The art is fantastic and really gives you the feel of the 1920’s era. The dinosaur and creature designs are very intriguing and really give you a feeling that our characters are in danger. The colors in the are dark and dreary, which matches what our protagonists are going through and really ups the feel of the issue.

Final Thoughts

Arkham Horror: The Terror at the End of Time #3 is a great continuation of the story. This series has taken big swings, and with this issue those swings are paying off. Next month can’t come soon enough so we can find out what happens next.

Final Grade: 8.5/10
