Armored #3:
Andy receives a mysterious message from the Detective in charge of his parent’s case. In the midst of it all, his adoptive parents are not all they seem to be at first. Is there more to them than losing their son Myles? The mystery seems to become cloudier as Andy must continue his training to defeat whatever comes his way.

Lauren:
Andy has not had an easy life. Struggling with the loss of his parents, the last thing he needs is a ghost on his shoulder insisting he continue training in order to wear a magical knight suit and fight evil. Or maybe, that’s exactly what he needs. Armored Issue #3 continues Andy’s journey to fight off evil spirits, and save the town, all the while learning to move on. And more importantly, learning to be happy. Throughout this issue we get mystery, family trauma, action, and a sprinkle of comedy. I’m absolutely loving how we’re seeing Andy and his new parents struggle but grow, and I can’t wait to see who this new foe is.
The Art:
As soon as I opened the book, I fell in love with the art. It’s so absolutely beautiful in almost a sad way at times. The pages look as if they’re water colored and the colors set the tone for each scene perfectly. While so much of the art creates a beautiful calming effect, “Myles” was done to look like something that belongs in a Halloween Horror Nights house. I mean that in the creepiest way imaginable. This art truly nails each scene no matter the situation.
The story of Armored Issue #3, combined with the art makes this 9 out 10 Knight ghosts for me.
Matt:
This issue builds upon the mysteries Michael brought to us in the first two and not only begins answering some of our questions but also brings into question some of the other characters that are in play. The story is building up at an excellent pace that isn’t giving us too much at once or too little. Andy and Williams’s relationship is becoming a favorite of mine as they both have a lot to learn from one another, which endears this more and more to me. The artwork continues to stand out as it is very calming to the reader’s eyes, thus immersing us more and more into the story Michael is crafting.
The effects of our friendly ghost stand out most to me and remind me very much of films such as Ghostbusters in a unique way. Overall, Armored continues to be a standout comic as we deal with the traumas of the past, weave webs of mystery, and hit the right comedic notes.
9.5/10 Knight Ghosts for me!
