Stray Cats NOT Strutting
The series follows several cats trying to find a home after a massive outbreak of a ravenous strain of rabies is unleashed. The government has quarantined a massive area and is trying to round up loose ends by any means necessary, and yes, by any means.
The Art
Coming from the team that brought you Stray Dogs, I can confidently believe that the great Don Bluth influenced both series’ art styles. What makes this stand out for me is the fact that the style of the infected vs those that aren’t are in the same line but still different enough. The design of the cats stands out on the shaded pages. With the shorter days of Fall itself are represented with heavy shadows and walk this line between warm and cold colors in the sky.
In one scene, you see what should be speech bubbles, but anyone who owns cats knows they are just gibberish zoomies. But coupled with real life and death, the frenetic scribble tells you exactly how you should feel.
Feral #5 is a 10 out of 10 Cats Pajamas
I truly can tell you don’t catnap on this series!!! As a cat-dad and lover of all things animal. This book has me hooked! I know I’ll submit a pic for the end pages, and maybe I’ll see my cats there! Because what else is the internet for?
Now, what are they going to do with the Kittens… We have to wait till SEPTEMBER!!!!
