The Sacrificers – Image Comics
**Minor spoilers below**
Issue 3 dives right into the God like characters where we start to learn about their lands, their ways and their political affairs. These were the characters that I wanted to know more about right from the start!
It’s in this issue where we start to see the resentment that Princess Soluna, the fire princess has for all the other Gods. This issue really starts to fill in the details that were alluded to in the first issue and I highly recommend giving it a re-read as there are a ton of connections between the two!

The Writing and the Art:
Rick Remender continues to smash it out of the park in this story! The call backs that we got from the bread crumbs that were dropped in issue 1 really amplified the tone and plot of this series!
Remender has readers on an emotional roller coaster the entire time! The witty banter that Remender showcases between the gods and how that transitions to the banter between the marionette dolls was an incredible way to blend the two story lines together and was one of my favorite parts of the issue.
YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THE DEAD LUCKY!
The character designs by Max Fiumara really stand out in this issue as readers learn more about the mysterious Queen Luna. Her powers are, as her name implies, moon based. Her design and demeanor is very Doctor Manhattan like and I am very intrigued to see how her powers and abilities stack up to the other Gods that are at this festival.
After learning more about Queen Luna in this issue Princess Soluna’s character design really connected for me. With her fiery hair coming from her father Rokos the sun god and her body similar to that of her mother Queen Luna. Having a crescent moon on her face along with her sun and moon belt are just some examples of the immense attention to detail that both Remender and Fiumara display while crafting this story.
Final Thoughts:
The Art, the word building and the story progression in this issue was absolutely incredible. The first splash page alone where we see the fire kingdom was a stroke of beauty. This creative team is really hitting their strides in this issue and I cannot wait to see how this story progresses!
Overall Rating: 9 out of 10
