Deadman is trying to make sense of the evil that is blocking souls from going to their final resting place and what the demon he has faced was. His first stop is Gotham City and Blackgate Prison where he hopes to find help from Bibliophile and his never forgetful memory before it is too late.

Creative Team: W. Maxwell Prince, Martin Morazzo, Chris O’Halloran, Good Old Neon, and Mark Spears.
The Story:
I am loving how silly and ridiculous this whole run has been so far. Deadman has a unique personality that is both wholesome and never having moved on himself. Prince takes us on a unique journey into Gotham and inside of Batman’s mind as our first stop which was a sight to behold. Batman has locked his mind and of course has a defense against anyone or anything which leads to fun scenes playing out. Another exciting moment is going inside the mind of Plastic Man who is full of humor even when he spends weeks as a lamp. The characters are so endearing and we still don’t yet know who or what our villain is up to just yet. However, we do still get thrilling action with our villains of the week as we are building up to something bigger.
The Art:
The artwork and the way the team can craft such a classic style to this story continues to stand tall. Batman is drawn simplistic for example but, the light blue classic color and suit design pay homage to an early version of the Caped Crusader. The background of Blackgate opts for a soft yellow which makes the villain who is a sunflower stand out vividly against the pale backdrop. It’s a welcomed unique artistic style that works so well with this weird story.
Final Thoughts:
Deadman #2 continues to get weird and I love it. This isn’t a typical tale of heroes or magic but, rather bringing us on a spiritual journey packed full of heart and excitement. I’m loving this run so far and you should pick it up as well!
Overall Grade 9.7/10
