The Story for Hornsby & Halo #14

Rose and Zach seem to have come to terms with who, or what, they are. With their parents out of jail, and their acceptance of their new reality things seem calm. Until the trillionaire kid, Tommy, comes to town. As the town rejoices in Tommy’s generosity, Rose is immediately hesitant. She’s knows an act when she sees one, because her and Zach do it everyday. Determined to find his parents, Tommy begins stalking the people he thinks are “The Unbelievables.” He begins with Rose Hornsby & Zachary Halo.

The Art

As worlds collide, the art blends these two comics together perfectly. Last week we got to know Tommy in The Trillion Dollar Kid, and this week we see his world intertwine with Hornsby & Halo. The art takes us from a beautiful and epic celebration, to another realm, and down into a hideout. Each location gorgeous, detailed, and perfect. All while perfectly showcasing the emotions of 3 very confused and powerful kids.

Final Thoughts

Hornsby & Halo #14 sucked me right in, and didn’t stop until the end. As someone who has been invested since issue 1, I can feel this little world surrounding Rose and Zach getting so much bigger, and I’m so excited for it. The original premise of these two sucked me in, but now as we explore the idea of this social experiment being even bigger than it already is, I’m even more invested. I can’t wait to see where we go next as Tommy continues his search for The Unbelievables.

Overall Grade: 9.5/10

As stories begin to connect and go deeper, there is no better time to jump into the world of Hornsby & Halo, than right now. While you can absolutely enjoy this story standalone, just to be safe, I also recommend diving into The Rocketfellers & The Trillion Dollar Kid.
