Spelldon and Kieran are back. Writer Megan Brown, Artist Eileen Widjaja, Colorist Bex Glendining, and Letterer Johanna Nattalie have created a beautiful first issue for IDW’s Monster High: Boomuda Triangle.

We start the issue off with the boys at the monster animal shelter. Spelldon is talking about the Boomuda Triangle, while Kieron is trying to decide what the 2 of them should do during summer vacation. They then have a very sweet moment, and then the chicken that is with them starts going a little insane.
We then cut to them trying to catch loose Flying Raccoons, and it is not going well for them. Kieron is being held by the raccoons, but he is then dropped by them. Spelldon tries to think of a levitation spell, but Kieron is dropped into a bush. We then cut to the next day, and Spelldon is with his sister, Fester. The 2 of them are having a conversation, and Spelldon realized that Kieron isn’t going to break up with him.
Kieron is then talking to Whisp, and the boys then proceed to meet up at the airport. They end up talking and then kiss, and Spelldon heads onto the plane to leave for vacation. The plane then end sup crashing into the Boomuda Triangle, and Spelldon proceeds to meet The Cartrographer. They then tell Spelldon all about the Boomuda Triangle.
We then find out that Kieron turned into a bat and hung on to the wheel of the plane. Kieron and Spelldon then fight over a map, and it gets ripped into 4 different pieces. Magic then triggers, and they get split apart. The final panel shows Spelldon with an alternate reality version of himself.
Overall Grade: 10/10
This new series is just 1 issue in, and it is already incredible. I cannot wait to see what this team has in store for the 4 remaining issues of this series.
