The Story and Writing

Megan – We’ve finally reached the end of X-Men: Age of Revelation after a long and chaotic time X years into the future! With Apocalypse making his grand entrance with Charles Xavier in tow, all is going to Revelation’s plan. Scott is there with his X-Men, prepared to fight until the very end, which Revelation anticipates from them. This will be a battle that’ll take all everyone has left over after this dystopian world has torn them apart in more ways than one.

A ton of writers went into to continuing the thrilling story of Age of Revelation and Jed MacKay brought it home with X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1. The comic had high energy throughout the read, and even gave us a big mystery forming that left us on a very interesting cliffhanger. I’m very to see what the future holds for the mutants of the world, especially with the last page MacKay left us with.

Janelle – This finale of X-Men: Age of Revelation, is an epic and bloody conclusion. I love how there are multiple places where fighting is going on. The X-Men are primarily the focus, but, it was nice to see characters like Spider-Man make an appearance. I really enjoyed the banter and back and forth that all the characters have going on. It’s nice way to end Age of Revelation, and I really enjoyed specifically Wolverine’s dialogue.

The Art

Megan – The artwork of X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1 perfectly captures the excitement of the final standoff of Doug Ramsey and everyone that’s been hurt by the X-Virus. The panels were beautifully detailed, with an excellent look at the fighting that goes down between the characters. Alongside that, the powersets were on full display with colors that brought so much energy to the pages of the comic. The artists knocked it out of the park!

Janelle – As far as the art, it is uniquely different than other Marvel comics. It gives a tasteful visual of exactly what I want to see. Which is blood and also action within this last issue. I love that the art also shows all of the X-Men and other characters, and they have different characteristics. Even when it comes down to the hair, eyes, and even their suit. Really nice job to the art team, who made all of this happen.

Final Thoughts

Megan – 8.8/10. I’m disappointed that X-Men: Age of Revelation is over with, but I tip my hat to all those that worked on this event. The comic creators made this event an exciting time all around!

Janelle – 9.8/10. This was a solid last issue for the X-Men. I’m hoping that I will see a spin-off series of the X-Men Age of Revolution, to see where the characters are. It does jump further into the future, so I’m hoping that I will see a lot when it comes to either re-introducing comic readers to the X-Men, or introducing a whole new group.

Overall Grade – 9.3 /10
