The Story

In the harrowing story of Lizzie and the super-corgis, we are now at the end of the tale. In the story narrated by Steve Trevor, Lizzie comes face to face with her dad. Meeting her father, Steve, and feeling every single emotion that’s built in her her entire life, Lizzie has to face the fact that this is the last day of his life. Steve catches on quick, and asks Lizzie when it’ll happen, so of course she has to admit to him it’ll happen today.

In their time together, which was much too short for either of their liking, they had an already formed bond that shows just how connected the two are. Steve is beyond proud of his daughter, and more than understanding of his daughter’s feelings. Lizzie opens up to Steve about her innermost emotions, and finds the support a daughter should always get from her father. Both feel robbed of their little time together, but were able to share the love for each other that’s always been there.

The Writing

Tom King created something beautiful in the life of Lizzie in Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman. We were able to see every emotion of Lizzie, from the loss of a father to teenage love. We saw the vulnerability in Lizzie, while simultationaly seeing the strength she showed time and time again. King paid so much respect to the daughter of Wonder Woman, and gave us a story that was dripping in emotion and pulled at your heartstrings. With a fantastic ending comic of the miniseries, and leaving off on a very interesting cliffhanger, I can’t wait to see what happens next in Tom King’s Wonder Woman.

The Art

While the artwork of Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman has been superhero-packed with excitement, the sixth issue was much more emotion-based. This ending to Lizzie’s journey was heartfelt and the artists absolutely nailed it matching that tone. From the tears in the eyes of Lizzie and Steve to Wonder Woman creating her babygirl, there’s not one page that won’t hit you in your feelings.

Belén Ortega, who has been consistent in her high quality work, hit a homerun with this series. Her gorgeous drawings, the eye catching cover art, and the ability to capture the emotion of the story is absolutely top notch. Luis Guerrero, who is the colorist, gives each page a beautiful depth with their work in the juxtaposition of muted tones and vibrancy. Clayton Cowles is able to capture the emotions of the characters and put it into the perfect dialogue. Together, the artists deserve all good praises for their work.

Final Thoughts

Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman is something that should be on everyone’s pull list. It’s exciting, it’s fun, it’s emotional, and it keeps you locked into the story all the way to the fantastic ending.
