The Story
On her relentless search for the Super-Corgi, Lizzie finds herself in the past with none other than Boy Wonder, Jason Todd. As she recants this story to the youngest and teenage aged Lizzies, you can see exactly where this is going by the blushes from Lizzie. Lizzie is searching for the missing corgi, then looks up in the sky and sees her crush, Jason. He’s at the end of a scuffle with the Mad Hatter when Lizzie makes herself known, and their chemistry instantly is felt in the air.

Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #5 takes you back to a time of teenage crushes, innocent flirting, and falling madly in love at some a young age. Jason and Lizzie’s infatuation is undeniable throughout the comic, making you really want to root for these two. However, there’s the looming feeling of knowing these two won’t get what their hearts desire because Lizzie is on a time crunch, as well as knowing that Jason’s days are unfortunately numbered.
Tom King writes the love between these two so flawlessly in this fifth issue. Along with that, there’s some humorous moments as well as the emotional toll Lizzie feels knowing she has to leave Jason behind. There are layers to the emotions of the comic, which presents itself as a teenage love story. All in all, another fantastic issue of Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman written from Tom King!
The Art
Belén Ortega knocks it out of the park, once again, with the artwork of Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman #5, with Luis Guerrero handled the colors. Ortega nailed the emotions perfectly that are heightened throughout the comic, and are perfectly communicated through the character’s faces. This makes the reader connect with the story in a whole new way, as we can empathize with the character’s emotions. Guerrero handles the colors, and makes the artwork practically pop off the page with their use of vibrant colors juxtaposing the darkness of the night. Both artists come together and bring a comic that’s both visually pleasing and compelling.
Final Thoughts
Another excellent issue of Trinity: Daughter of Wonder Woman! The creative team continues to make this comic run pull at your heart strings.
