The Story for Hornsby & Halo #13

Rose and Zachary have been fighting who or what they are since they first learned they were more than mere mortals. Now they’re forced to decide which path they must take. A decision they must make quick as their new Nephelium friend can only provide them so much time. Meanwhile their pets and parents still locked up under false pretenses creates a whole other situation. One Zach has never experienced.

The Art

This was an action packed issue, which gave us some beautiful fight scenes complete with hellfire and feathers. Whether we were watching a converse wearing Nephilim getting his ass kicked, or staring at the stars, this issue truly had some amazing art from beginning to end.

So much story can be told in an expression or a look, and we get a lot of that from Zach. This celestial child raised by terrible parents, seems to always be thinking. You can see every angelic emotion he has right on his face. Something that can truly deepen any scene he’s in.

Overall Grade: 9/10

When Zachary and Rose thought they were only human, they were simply acquaintances. Now having learned they are celestial and infernal highborns, destined to be on the opposite sides of a world ending war, they’re closer than ever. While these two have bickered like siblings throughout this run, they’ve also grown, and this issue we really saw them work as a team. Something that has been slowly building.

With their new Nephilim friend, and recent events having changed, I can’t wait to see what these kids will face next. A school play, a world ending catastrophe, zombies? Hornsby & Halo continues to be a fun and action packed story with some laughs and heart felt moments along the way.
