The Story

Mojo is in the money-making business, and it looks like his business is failing. With Kraven and Rhino down for the count, Bishop nowhere to be seen, and just Wonder Man and Hellcat remaining, there’s not much hope for a hit.

While Mojo is anticipating romantic scene between the two remaining characters, Longshot is reading the script and he’s just not impressed. Spiral is close to violence after all her work to get him the contract, but Longshot couldn’t care less. So no Longshot, we’re down three characters, and it all rides on the back of Hellcat and Wonder Man, who happen to be exes. Things aren’t looking good for Mojo or his ratings, especially if this turns into a flop.

Longshots #3 is full of quirky moments, humorous references, and instances that are completely meta. Gerry Duggan and Jonathan Hickman did a marvelous job of making this miniseries extremely entertaining in the dystopian Age of Revelation. No matter how stressful the TV show gets for Mojo or how chaotic the missions get for the stars, there’s still the entertainment factor that keeps the audience locked into the story. At the end of the day, it’s Mojo’s world, and we’re all just here to watch.

The Art

The creative team is absolutely stacked, so of course, the artwork of the comic is going to be fantastic! Alan Robinson, Wayne Faucher, Carlos Lopez, Antonio Fabela, and Ariana Maher are to thank for the artwork that hammered down the entertainment factor of the story.

Bringing the story to life, Alan Robinson and Wayne Faucher leave every page beautifully detailed with the characters portraying the emotions that are sure to bring in the ratings Mojo desires.

Carlos Lopez and Antonio Fabela handle the colors, making each page aesthetically pleasing dripping in vibrancy and juxtaposing colors. Ariana Maher puts in the final home run with her work on the letters, keeping a perfect flow of dialogue throughout the entire comic with words that perfectly portray the emotions of the story. Together, the artists all knocked it out of the park!

Final Thoughts

Longshots was an entertaining read all the way through, with great humor, excellent dynamics, and team ups that you need to see more of!

Overall Grade – 9/10
