The Story:

This is exactly the type of story I would have cooked up with my friends back in the day, as we would sit around and talk about comics and things of that nature. It is what makes me appreciate what Ben is doing with this particular run so much. He has truly planned out every single detail in a way that even Batman would be jealous of. Every hero’s death has been meticulously thought of and crafted down to the exact detail, leaving the reader in awe of how it is done. Additionally, where the was once no hope, he has finally thrown us a bone as Wolverine is slashing his way to save the day, but, even more than that, Weapon Predator X is finally joining in the chaos!

The Art and Letters:

No detail is left out in this issue, as the emotional moments, such as Thor’s tragic demise and the exciting moments, such as Wolverine slashing a Yautja’s head off, are done with beautiful detail in this issue. As the action is on full display, the team doesn’t forget the moments that make this story fun, and we get to be reminded of them as Nightcrawler is given his moments to shine, and then Spider-Man carrying Wolverine and Nightcrawler are done in a splash page of glory, bringing out cheers from me. Frank nails the gory green slimy blood that these creatures bleed, and Clayton embodies Wolverine’s voice through his letters. There are subtle, endearing artistic choices as well, such as Falcons suit all which make this team operate in shining glory.

Final Thoughts:

Just when we thought all hope was lost, Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #5 hits us with a healthy dose of action and hope. The art team captures the action and excitement as Ben Percy is setting our heroes up for a triumphant comeback that would make 28-3 look like child’s play.
