Creative Team – John Layman, Pete Woods, Wes Abbott

The Story
DC K.O. is in full swing and Cyborg is preparing himself to join the arena. While Cyborg is away, the Titans have been very busy trying to save humanity for what’s to come. The Titans ran themselves ragged trying to evacuate the planet to avoid the incoming apocalypse and they managed to do just that. With the people of Earth finding solace on Gemworld, thanks to Amethyst, you would think it would be smooth sailing from here. However, that’s not the case.

The Titans are all split taking care of different parts of the plan, and it seems there’s trouble in every situation. On top of it all, Earth’s emergency channel has been jammed, so none of them are able to reach their team for help. With new villains entering the plans, new obstacles in their way, the Titans continue to fight ahead of the apocalypse that’s just around the corner.
The Writing
John Layman, the writer of Titans #29, sets the tone immediately with the Titans trying to figure out what to do with the villains when they evacuate Earth. This gives you a good idea at how thrilling this comic will be and proves to be. Each Titan goes through their own problems while trying to prepare for the apocalypse, without being able to reach out for help. The switching back and forth from Titan to Titan is written smoothly, and keep you hooked to the pages to find out what happens next. Layman has me very excited for what’s to come in DC K.O. and for the Titans!
The Art
Pete Woods handles most of the art in Titans #29, which is impressive on its own. But when you actually see the art, you’re blown away by the detail, the vibrancy, and the excitement that’s on every single page. Whether it be the emotion coming from Raven, the fighting panels that feature Nightwing, or the galactic blockade that Starfire finds herself in, it’s all handled beautifully.
Wes Abbott lends his talents to the lettering, giving the dialogue the emotion it deserves to showcase the depth and the heightened tensions. The artists deserve their flowers because they knocked it out of the park.
