Dunegons & Dragons: The Fallbacks #1- Meet The Team

Published:

Jaleigh Johnson’s D&D novel characters are now in their first comic book series. Dark Horse’s Dungeons & Dragons: The Fallbacks is headlined by an all-star creative team, including:

  • Writer: Greg Pak
  • Artists:  Wilton Santos & Edvan Alves
  • Colorist: Raul Angulo
  • Letterer: Nate Piekos

Wilson and Edvan’s art in this first issue is incredible. They took the characters from Jaleigh’s head, and they all look incredible. Everyone has their own personality, and the team really gave them that within each character design. Add in both Raul’s coloring work and Nate’s exceptional lettering, the book ends up being fantastic.

Greg’s story and writing is amazing. He took these characters, and wrote a beautiful story for them. Getting to see what they are up to, and seeing what they planned is amazing. But Greg also knows how to leave breadcrumbs for fans to try to see if they can figure out what is happening as well.

Now, this first issue not only introduces us to our band of adventures, but it also sets up what’s happening in the 3 future issues. The team runs into some kobold thieves, and that sets up the team doing a huge heist. But they also run into the city’s team of annoying heroes as well. Greg really packed so much into this issue, and it all works.

Overall Grade: 10/10

Greg and his team knocked this issue and series out of the park. One issue in, and I cannot wait to see where we go from here.
