The Story and Writing

Wanda and Vision are drawn into a mysterious Death Door, only to be met by the last person they ever expected; Vin, Vision’s long-deceased son. Vision is overwhelmed with emotion at the sight of Vin, but Wanda immediately senses that something is wrong. She’s right, of course, this isn’t truly Vin, but Vision doesn’t care. All that matters to him is being with his son again.

Vin, clearly a puppet in a larger scheme, reveals that “Uncle Reaper” has transformed the Graverealm specifically for them. The Grim Reaper, he warns, is on his way. In the meantime, he’s left behind a series of “games” for Wanda and Vision. But these aren’t ordinary games, they’re deadly trials designed to inflict both physical pain and psychological torment.

Wanda and Vision are left with no choice: they must survive and win each game. Failure means death.

Steve Orlando delivers another exciting issue of The Vision & The Scarlet Witch that shows just how close Wanda and Vision truly are. Not in a romantic way, but a supportive and loving way. For example, when Wanda sees the pure emotion coming from Vision when it involves the echo of his son, or when they lean on each other when they have to endure what they’ve lost. Orlando shows time and time again that neither of these two powerhouses could handle Graverealm without the other.

The Art

Lorenzo Tammetta and Jacopo Camagni really delivered in The Vision & The Scarlet Witch #3 as they served as the artists. Along with Ruth Redmond, who handled the colors, the artists created so many different tones of artwork throughout the comic. Whether it be a full page of Wanda and Vision dressed to the nines, a collage of family pictures, or Wanda being attacked by venomous true fairies, the artwork showcased the talents of the team. Travis Lanham also accompanied the creative team as he worked with the lettering, and he knocked it out of the park as usual. Each sentence was given so much more power by the hands of Lanham.

Final Thoughts

The Vision & The Scarlet Witch #3 is an emotional thrill ride that helps you see The Vision in a more vulnerable light. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
