The Story

Harley Quinn isn’t happy when Mrs. Grimaldi isn’t happy so they’re off to court to settle their problem. The problem in question? Althea Klang installed a phone charging station/information kiosk/rideshare hailing stand/bathroom right outside of Mrs. Grimaldi’s stoop, and she’s not happy one tiny bit about it.

Althea is trying to make Harley and Mrs. Grimaldi’s life miserable so she can drive them away from the neighborhood, and she’s doing a great job of it. She even went as far as hiring The Ravager to guard her phone charging station, knowing she would be a problem for Harley. So, Harley got advice from the wisest person she knows, Chicken Fingers. Chicken Fingers said it’s best to try to fix this in a nonviolent way and take this up to the district council, so here we are!

This seems like a pretty open and closed case, except The Ravager and Althea are in the courtroom with Harley. Harley and The Ravager are much more interested in finishing their brawl than discussing this problem in court, but Mrs. Grimaldi is set on getting this whole thing resolved.

Elliott Kalan made Harley Quinn #52 a fun read with plenty of humorous moments, which felt authentic for Harley Quinn. The cliffhanger that we were left on I certainly didn’t see coming but I can’t wait to see where it leads to.

The Art

Mindy Lee, the artist of Harley Quinn #52, matching the tone perfectly, and made the artwork lighthearted and fun to see. Seeing Harley Quinn in a courtroom giving The Ravager a wedgie isn’t something I ever thought I’d see but Lee made it happen. Joining Lee is Triona Farrell, who handles the colors. Farrell did a fantastic job bringing more life to the artwork with their use of bright and vibrant colors. Along with Lee and Farrell, Lucas Gattoni in on the creative team, handling the letters. I think he brought a lot of energy to each and every word, as he’s the voice of the comic.

Final Thoughts

All in all, I thought it was a lot of fun. Harley Quinn is always entertaining to read, so it’s nice to see that continue.

Overall Grade – 8.4/10
