Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! This week I’m going to be reviewing the 19th issue of Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures from Dark Horse Comics!

Things are reaching an explosive conclusion for the Republic & the Jedi in their war against the Nihil. So will our heroes be able to emerge victorious? Let’s jump into it!
Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures #19 by Daniel Jose Older (Writer), Harvey Tolibao (Illustrations), Michael Atiyeh (Colors), Tyler Smith & Jimmy Betancourt (Letters) is a great penultimate issue for the series, and is one fans won’t want to miss.
The Story
Daniel Jose Older pens a fantastic story, that is one longtime readers of the series are sure to enjoy. It ties up some of the plot threads that have been going on in the last few issues, and sets up nicely for what will be the final issue of the series.
I really enjoyed the end of the issue, because it’s such a nice peaceful ending for the story. Also, I’m equally intrigued to see how the final issue goes. It’s well known that The High Republic will be wrapping up soon. So just what that means for the characters we’ve come to know is yet to be seen.
The Artwork
Firstly, Harvey Tolibao & Michael Atiyeh are truly a fantastic tandem when it comes to artwork in Star Wars comics. They have such a distinct style that really helps the issue (and the series) stand out from the rest. Second, I also cannot think of a duo who are better at battle sequences in comics than these two. If you’re looking for a comic series with great battle sequences, and they’re doing the artwork? Buy it IMMEDIATELY.
FINAL POINT: Daniel Jose Older pens another fantastic issue that sets up for the final issue wonderfully. That together with the incredible artwork from Tolibao & Atiyeh make this an issue that you’re absolutely going to want to read this week!
Overall Grade: 9/10
